Bottled

I received a copy of BOTTLED by Carol Riggs in exchange for an honest review.

As a child, I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandmother.  We would watch the old shows, and one of my favorites happened to be “I Dream of Jeanie.”  I had the Halloween costume.  I dreamed about having her magic and her sweet romance with Major Nelson.  To be honest, I haven’t read a lot of genie books, so BOTTLED is a relatively new genre.  However, I fell in love with it.  It brought me back a strong taste of “I Dream of Jeanie.”

It isn’t just like the show, so don’t read it expecting a remake of Jeanie and Major Nelson.  This book has much more depth to it than wacky stunts.  Adeelah Naji is a character to believe in.  There are moments of sweetness, moments of adventure, and times when you will gasp (at least I did!).

I can’t recommend this book enough.  I don’t want to give away too much – I hate spoilers – but I do want to say that my favorite parts involved Adeelah and Nathan.  Yes, I swooned for him!
